ZFORT Group is looking for a skilled and adaptable WordPress/CMS Engineer with solid experience in website development.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain custom WordPress websites, plugins, and backend features
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure technical feasibility and execution of creative ideas
- Lead backend development for WordPress projects from initial setup to deployment
- Customize and extend WordPress functionality through custom plugins and themes
- Optimize backend performance and implement best practices for scalability and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks
- Integrate third-party APIs and systems as needed
- Ensure websites follow SEO and accessibility best practices on the backend
Required skills and qualifications:
- Excellent English speaking and writing skills
- 5+ years of experience with WordPress backend development, PHP, and MySQL
- Proficiency in creating custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch
- Strong understanding of WordPress REST API, ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), WP-CLI, and custom post types
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git
- Experience with WooCommerce is a plus
- Solid knowledge of website performance optimization and security best practices
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred (nice to have) Qualifications:
- Understanding of SEO best practices and website performance optimization
- Experience integrating third-party tools and APIs
- Knowledge of Headless CMS technologies and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js)
- Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design
